Church Constitution

The Constitution of Gods Sanhedrin Christian Assembly serves as our governing document, outlining our purpose, structure, and operational procedures. This document provides the framework for how we conduct our affairs and fulfill our mission as a church.

Article I: Name

The name of this organization shall be Gods Sanhedrin Christian Assembly, hereinafter referred to as "the Church."

Article II: Statement of Faith

The Church subscribes to the Statement of Faith as adopted by the Church and as may be amended from time to time, which is incorporated by reference as if fully set forth herein.

Article III: Purpose and Mission

The purpose of this Church is to glorify God by making disciples, as commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ in the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). The specific purposes include:

  1. Evangelizing the lost through the preaching of the Gospel
  2. Edifying and perfecting the saints through teaching and fellowship
  3. Developing Christian character and maturity
  4. Ministering to the needs of the community
  5. Supporting missions and evangelism worldwide

Article IV: Church Membership

Membership in this Church shall be open to all who have professed faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Savior and have been baptized by immersion upon a credible profession of faith.

Requirements for Membership:

  1. Personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  2. Baptism by immersion (or willingness to be baptized)
  3. Agreement with the Church's Statement of Faith
  4. Commitment to regular attendance and participation
  5. Willingness to support the Church through tithes and offerings
  6. Desire to serve in ministry according to one's gifts

Article V: Church Government

This Church shall be governed by a Board of Directors consisting of the Senior Pastor and elected members of the congregation. The Senior Pastor shall serve as the spiritual leader and chief administrative officer of the Church.

Board of Directors:

The Board of Directors shall consist of not less than five (5) nor more than nine (9) members, including the Senior Pastor. The Board shall have the authority to manage the affairs of the Church, subject to the approval of the congregation on major issues.

Article VI: Officers

The officers of this Church shall include:

  • Senior Pastor
  • Associate Pastor
  • Church Clerk
  • Treasurer
  • Board of Directors (as elected by the congregation)

Officers shall serve terms of two (2) years and shall be elected by a majority vote of the congregation.

Article VII: Meetings

The Church shall hold regular worship services and business meetings as determined by the Board of Directors. Special meetings may be called by the Senior Pastor or upon the written request of at least ten percent (10%) of the voting members.

Article VIII: Finances

The financial affairs of the Church shall be managed by the Board of Directors under the oversight of the Treasurer. All financial records shall be open to inspection by members of the Church.

Financial policies shall include:

  • Annual budget approval by the congregation
  • Monthly financial reporting
  • Annual audit by an independent accountant
  • Transparent giving and accountability

Article IX: Property

All property, real and personal, used by the Church shall be held in trust for the benefit of the Church. Any disposition of property shall require approval by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of the voting members present at a duly called meeting.

Article X: Amendments

This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the members present at any regular or special meeting of the Church, provided that notice of the proposed amendment has been given at the previous regular meeting.

Article XI: Dissolution

In the event of dissolution of the Church, all assets shall be distributed according to the decision of the members, provided that no such distribution shall be made to any member as such, and provided further that any such distribution shall be made only to one or more organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
